Emotion of Pride
Definition
Pride is defined as an exaggerated positive evaluation of oneself based on a devaluation of others.
When we devaluate other people and have negative thoughts about them we are being pride. Pride reflects superiority.
Pride reflect inferiority feelings that are covered by superiority. If the only way a person has to feel good about himself is devaluating others, he or she is covering inferiority feelings by being pride.
How Pride affect our life
Pride leads you to believe that other people are not perfect and you are better than them. Pride covers your insecurity. You are constantly comparing to others. If a person is self-confident does not need pride. Pride affect our relationships because there is no empathy and no intimacy. Pride can ruin your life
When you have pride everybody else appears lower to you, it makes you feel you are the center and you will not be able to develop concern for others.
Steps to overcome Pride

Pride will teach you a lot about your low self esteem. Healing pride is an opportunity to see your own beauty and find out that your self-worth is your birthright. As Nathaniel Branded said: Persons with high self esteem are not driven to make themselves superior to others; they do not seek to prove their value by measuring themselves against a comparative standard. They joy is being who they are, not in being better than someone else.
