How does aromatherapy work?

The smell receptors in your nose communicate with parts of your brain that serve as storehouses for emotions and memories. When you breathe in essential oil s, they stimulate these parts of your brain and influence physical, emotional, and mental health. For example, lavender stimulates the activity of brain cells the same way some sedative medications work.

Essential oils that are inhaled into the lungs offer both psychological and physical benefits. Stimulate the brain to trigger a reaction, have therapeutic benefit. Essential oils that are applied to the skin can be absorbed into the bloodstream. To apply essential oils to the skin, they have to be diluted into a carrier that is commonly known as carrier oil
