William James Books
William James is best known for developing the James-Lange theory states that an event produces a response, then there is an interpretation of this response. This interpretation makes a person feel an specific emotion.
William James (1842 – 1910) was a pioneering American psychologist and philosopher trained as a medical doctor. Williams James theory of emotions holds that emotion is the mind's perception of physiological conditions that result from some stimulus.
For example : it is not that we see a bear, become afraid and run. We see a bear and run, consequently we are afraid of the bear. Our mind's perception of the higher adrenaline level, heartbeat, etc., is the emotion.
